PLA+ Filament
The Next Step Up for Strong, Reliable 3D Printed Parts
At S3D NZ, we use premium-grade PLA+ filament from Bambu Labs and eSun for parts that need a little more muscle.
PLA+ is tougher, more flexible, and more impact-resistant than standard PLA—making it perfect for trays, mounts, tool holders, and workshop parts that take daily punishment.
All our PLA+ parts are printed locally in Christchurch with tuning for maximum strength, ensuring they perform where it matters most.

Key Characteristics of PLA+
Stronger and More Durable than standard PLA
Improved Impact Resistance for heavy-use parts
Better Flexibility without cracking
Good Surface Finish – still looks clean and professional
Best For: Heavy-use workshop parts, trays, mounts, structural components

When to Choose PLA+
Choose PLA+ when you need:
✅ Stronger brackets, mounts, and fixtures
✅ Tool trays that can handle drops, knocks, and daily abuse
✅ High-use workshop parts or equipment adaptors
✅ Prototype parts needing greater mechanical strength
Limitations of PLA+
Slightly more difficult to print than basic PLA (we have it dialled in)
Still not ideal for high-heat environments (above 60°C)
Less flexible than PETG or TPU for flexible part needs
Need even more heat resistance or flexibility? Check out PETG or TPU options.
